Takomo is a Finnish direct-to-consumer golf brand built for the modern player. Known for its clean Nordic design, performance-driven clubs, and loyal global community, Takomo has grown into one of the most exciting names in modern golf equipment.


Context

By the time Takomo came to craftberry, their online store had been built on top of itself for years.

The new design direction was too different from the old one to work from what was there - a rebuild was the cleaner, more honest path forward.

The craftberry team started fresh on a Shopify Plus foundation and designed the store around how Takomo's customers actually make a buying decision.

Design

Golf clubs are not an impulse purchase. A customer choosing between iron sets needs to understand the specs, compare models, and know which club suits their game before they commit.

We rebuilt the product page to carry them through that process - fitting tool, comparison, reviews, and bundles on one page - so the decision happens on the store, not somewhere else.

The homepage was built to reflect the brand's direct and playful personality.

Internationalization

Takomo's direct-to-consumer model required international to support to sell worldwide.

The craftberry team integrated Global-E across the whole store.

This means Takomo's customers in Germany, Japan, or Australia see the right currency, pay the right duties, and receive their order from the right location.

With this integration, we eliminated the need to manage separate storefronts or regional setups.

Multi-currency is displayed sitewide so there is no ambiguity at checkout. Gift cards work at fixed prices in every country.

Order routing is handled automatically. The configuration required close coordination with Global-E on shipping rates and duties.

This was not a light technical task, but the output for the business is important - one store, one back-end, 195+ countries covered.

The systems that keep operations running

A store that performs well at the front has to be backed by infrastructure that holds up at the back.

Takomo runs their operations on Odoo as their core ERP, and the craftberry team built a custom integration to keep inventory and order data in sync between Odoo and Shopify Plus.

A second integration connects Shopify Plus to Takomo's internal analytics platform to ensure the business has clean and reliable data.

Before launch, our team migrated approximately 2,120 products across the full catalogue - consolidating duplicates and carrying over five years of catalog structure.
