Best Shopify Upsell Apps in 2026: 10 Picks and Our A/B Test Data
The 10 best Shopify upsell apps for 2026, grouped by placement, with live pricing, our take on each app and craftberry A/B test results measured on revenue per visitor.

craftberry is a Shopify Premier Partner agency. Every month our in-house CRO team runs upsell, bundle and cart tests on the mid-sized and large Shopify stores we work with. This list comes from that work: the apps we see running on client stores, the placements we have tested, and the 2026 results we can share.
We checked every app below against its live Shopify App Store listing on 30 October 2026.
Two apps that still appear in many upsell roundups, Rebuy and Selleasy, are currently closed to new installs, so we left them out of the ranking and explain the details further down.
Key takeaways
- For most growing brands, the best Shopify upsell app is Kaching Bundles App & Upsells for product-page offers. Pair it with one post-purchase app, such as Zipify OneClickUpsell or AfterSell.
- Start with the placement, then pick the app: checkout offers need Shopify Plus, and post-purchase offers skip wallet and gift-card orders.
- In our 2026 tests, winning product-page upsells lifted revenue per visitor by 9.7% to 14.7%, mostly through conversion rate. In most of them, order value moved by only about 2%.
- Judge an upsell app on revenue per visitor (RPV) in a controlled test. The take rate in the app’s dashboard ignores shoppers who saw the offer and left.
- Rebuy and Selleasy could not be installed from the Shopify App Store on 30 October 2026, so they are not in our ranking.
What is the best upsell app for Shopify?
The best upsell app for Shopify is Kaching Bundles App & Upsells if your main upsell sits on the product page. That is where most stores we work with see the biggest gains in revenue per visitor.
For offers after payment, Zipify OneClickUpsell is our first pick. Frequently Bought Together is the best low-cost option.
No single app is best for every store, because each one is strongest in one placement.
The table below is the short version. The sections after it give our take on each app and when we pick it.
Prices and plans come from each app’s Shopify App Store listing, checked 30 October 2026. Prices are in USD and change often, so confirm on the listing before you install.
How did we pick these Shopify upsell apps?
We picked these Shopify upsell apps by placement, availability, pricing model, testing support and our own experience with them on client stores.
App Store ratings counted too, but less than placement and testing.
- Placement coverage. Product page, cart drawer, checkout, post-purchase or thank-you page. We grouped the list by placement because that is how we plan upsell tests.
- Availability. We opened every listing on 30 October 2026 and left out apps that were closed to new installs.
- Pricing model. An app that bills by orders, by added revenue, by views or by Shopify plan costs very different amounts in a peak month. We noted the model, not only the entry price.
- Testing. Built-in split testing, or a clean setup with Intelligems, the testing tool we use on client stores.
- First-hand use. Apps we have seen on client stores, or that are part of the stack our team implements, ranked above apps we know only from their listings.
Disclosure: craftberry publishes this list. We are a Shopify agency, not an app developer, and none of these apps are our own products.
What is the difference between an upsell, a cross-sell and a bundle?
The difference is what the shopper is offered: an upsell offers a bigger or better version of the same product, a cross-sell offers a different related product, and a bundle combines several products into one offer, usually at a discount.
For example, a three-pack instead of one bottle is an upsell, a case added to a phone is a cross-sell, and a cleanser, serum and moisturiser sold as a set is a bundle.
Most apps on this list do all three, so the labels blur. The difference still matters for testing, because each one puts a different question in front of the shopper:
- A quantity upsell asks “how many do I need?”
- A cross-sell asks “do I need this too?”
- A bundle asks “is the set worth more than the single item?”
If you mainly need a mix-and-match or build-your-own bundle tool, see our guide to the best Shopify bundle apps, where we cover apps built only for bundles.
Which upsell apps work best on the Shopify product page?
The upsell apps that work best on the Shopify product page are Kaching Bundles App & Upsells for quantity breaks and bundle offers, Frequently Bought Together for “bought together” cross-sells, and Shopify Search & Discovery for free complementary products.
We start most upsell tests on the product page because every buyer sees it, and the offer becomes part of the purchase decision.
1. Kaching Bundles App & Upsells

Kaching Bundles App & Upsells is our first pick for product-page upsells.
It puts quantity breaks, bundle offers, free gifts and a progress bar inside the buy box. Its App Store listing shows a 5.0 rating from 6,545 reviews and the Built for Shopify badge.
Pricing: free to install on development stores. Paid plans start at $14.99 per month (Starter) and scale with the extra revenue the app generates: Scale is $29.99 and Pro is $59.99. There is a 7-day trial.
Our take: Kaching runs on the product pages of a handmade accessories brand we run CRO for and product-page bundle upsells keep winning there. Two rounds of product-page bundle-upsell tests on a professional haircare store both won: the first lifted revenue per visitor 14.7%, the second 10.1%. The app also has built-in A/B testing, which helps smaller teams that don’t yet use a separate testing tool. If you also need a slide cart, the same developer publishes Kaching CartDrawer Cart Upsell as a separate app.
When we pick it: products bought in multiples or sets (consumables, beauty, accessories, supplements), and stores where the buy box is the main place to raise order value.
2. Frequently Bought Together (Code Black Belt)

Frequently Bought Together does one job: an Amazon-style “bought together” offer on the product page and cart page.
Products can be picked by AI, by hand or with store-wide rules. It is rated 4.9 from 1,211 reviews and has the Built for Shopify badge.
Pricing: a real free plan with up to 3 manual bundles. Paid plans are $9.99 per month up to 50 orders, $24.99 up to 500 and $39.99 above 500.
Our take: a good low-cost first cross-sell. It doesn’t cover checkout, post-purchase or the thank-you page, so it is usually one half of a stack, not the whole stack.
When we pick it: catalogues with obvious companion products (device and accessory, cleanser and moisturiser), and stores testing their first cross-sell.
3. Shopify Search & Discovery

Shopify Search & Discovery is Shopify’s own free app. It lets you set up to 10 complementary and 10 related products per product, and the theme’s recommendation blocks display them.
You need a theme with a complementary products block. You also have to set complementary picks by hand, because Shopify only auto-generates related products.
Pricing: free.
Our take: this is the option most guides skip, and it is often the right first step. A complementary-products block built into the theme adds no third-party script. On Moon Nude, a “Goes great with” complementary-products test won with returning visitors: conversion rate up 15.3%, revenue per visitor up 9.7% and average order value up 9.5%. A complementary-products block like this can be built natively in the theme, without adding another app script.

When we pick it: stores with clear product logic, a compatible theme and a team that can keep the pairings up to date.
Which upsell apps work best in the Shopify cart drawer?
UpCart and Candy Rack are the strongest cart-drawer options. Kaching CartDrawer is an alternative for stores already using Kaching. The cart drawer is a high-intent placement because the shopper has already chosen a product. It is also where offers compete with the checkout button, so we always test it rather than assume it wins.
4. UpCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell

UpCart replaces the theme’s cart with a slide cart you can configure: upsells, reward and free-shipping bars, add-ons and a sticky cart.
It is rated 4.8 from 956 reviews, has the Built for Shopify badge, and now lists Rokt as its developer.
Pricing: $29.99 per month up to 200 orders, $34.99 for 201 to 500 and $54.99 for 501 to 1,000, with a 14-day trial. The free plan is only for development and partner stores.
Our take: UpCart suits stores with a weak theme cart that want a drawer the marketing team can edit without a developer. If your theme already has a good custom drawer, a second cart layer is rarely worth the extra script.
When we pick it: stores without a custom cart that want a threshold bar and one cart upsell live within a day.
5. Candy Rack

Candy Rack by Digismoothie covers pre-purchase offers on the product page, cart, checkout and post-purchase page, and comes with its own slide cart drawer.
It is rated 4.9 from 265 reviews, has the Built for Shopify badge, and runs A/B tests through Intelligems.
Pricing: $29.99 per month for 0 to 50 online-store orders, $39.99 for 51 to 200 and $59.99 for 201 to 500, with an 8-day trial. The free plan only covers trial and development stores.
Our take: for us, the Intelligems connection matters more than any single feature. It lets us test offers on revenue per visitor with the same tool we use for the rest of the store.
When we pick it: stores that want one app for pre-purchase offers and already test with Intelligems.
Can you upsell at checkout on Shopify without Plus?
No, you can’t upsell inside the Shopify checkout without Plus, because checkout UI extensions on the information, shipping and payment steps are available only on the Shopify Plus plan.
Stores on other plans can still upsell on the product page, in the cart, on the post-purchase page and on the thank-you page.
Before you choose an app for this part of the funnel, know about two platform changes:
- Shopify stopped running script tags on the order status page for Plus stores on 28 August 2025, and for all other stores on 26 August 2026. Older thank-you page upsells that relied on scripts no longer work, so check that any app you install uses current extensions.
- Only one app can serve post-purchase offers at a time, so running two post-purchase apps side by side doesn’t work.
Which upsell apps work best after purchase and on the thank-you page?
The upsell apps that work best after purchase and on the thank-you page are Zipify OneClickUpsell for one-click post-purchase funnels, AfterSell for detailed targeting, ReConvert for thank-you page offers, and Essential Upsell & Cross Sell as a low-cost first option.
A post-purchase offer appears after payment, so it can’t cost you the original order, and the shopper can add the item without entering card details again.
Most upsell guides leave out one limit: Shopify doesn’t show the post-purchase page when the order was paid through installment or wallet services, with a gift card, or with any method other than a credit card.
On stores where most buyers pay with an express wallet, a post-purchase app reaches only part of the orders, so we check the store’s payment-method mix before recommending one.
6. One Click Upsell (Zipify OCU)

Zipify OneClickUpsell is a full-funnel upsell app built around one-click post-purchase offers. It also covers the product page, cart drawer, in-checkout (Plus only) and thank-you page.
It is rated 4.5 from 571 reviews and has the Built for Shopify badge.
Pricing: from $9.95 per month for up to $200 in upsell revenue. The price scales with upsell revenue and is capped at $999 per month, with a 30-day trial. It doesn’t bill on order volume.
Our take: because it bills on the revenue it adds, not on total orders, the cost stays fair in a peak month. Split testing is built in.
When we pick it: Shopify Plus stores that want post-purchase and in-checkout offers in one tool, and high-volume stores that would pay heavily on an order-based plan.
7. AfterSell Post Purchase Upsell

AfterSell started with one-click post-purchase offers. It now also covers the product page, cart drawer, checkout (Plus only) and thank-you page.
It is rated 4.9 from 1,109 reviews and lists Rokt as its developer.
Pricing: Post-Purchase plan $34.99 per month, Pre-Purchase $59.99, Complete $79.99, with a 30-day trial.
Our take: its post-purchase targeting and multivariate testing are among the most detailed on this list. Some 2026 articles say AfterSell is closed to new installs, but its listing was open and installable when we checked on 30 October 2026.
When we pick it: stores that want to target post-purchase offers by product, cart value or customer tag and test several versions at once.
8. ReConvert Post Purchase Upsell

ReConvert, now run by Upsell.com, began as a thank-you page builder. It has since added product page, cart, checkout (Plus) and one-click post-purchase offers.
It is rated 4.8 from 3,119 reviews.
Pricing: free up to 50 orders or $50 in upsell revenue. Paid plans start at $9.99 per month for 51 to 100 orders, then $19.99 and $39.99. A/B testing is listed on all plans.
Our take: most stores leave the thank-you page empty, and it is cheap space to use. ReConvert is the most complete tool for it, from reorder prompts to post-purchase surveys.
When we pick it: stores still using the default Shopify layout for their thank-you and order status pages.
9. Essential Upsell & Cross Sell

Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is a light app for product-page add-ons and one-click post-purchase offers, with cart offers on higher plans.
It is rated 5.0 from 2,455 reviews and has the Built for Shopify badge.
Pricing: free up to $100 in added revenue. After that, it is $9.99 per month up to $500, $19.99 up to $1,000 (this plan adds the cart page) and $39.99 up to $2,500.
Our take: Essential is the post-purchase app on a car diagnostics store we run CRO for. It suits brands that want a post-purchase offer live without committing to a full-funnel suite, and its free tier lets you prove the placement before paying.
When we pick it: a first post-purchase app for a store that only wants to pay when the app adds revenue.
10. Bold AI Upsell & Cross-Sell

Bold AI Upsell & Cross-Sell, long known as Bold Upsell, shows offers on the product page, cart page and drawer, post-purchase page and thank-you page.
Plus stores on the Advanced plan also get in-checkout offers. It is rated 4.4 from 596 reviews and has the Built for Shopify badge.
Pricing: the Standard plan is free to install and takes 3.5% of upsell revenue. Advanced is $10 per month plus 2.5% of upsell revenue.
Our take: paying a percentage of upsell revenue is easy at the start and expensive at scale. Once upsell revenue is meaningful, compare it against a flat plan.
When we pick it: stores already running Bold Subscriptions or other Bold apps that want one vendor.
Why are Rebuy and Selleasy not on this list?
Rebuy and Selleasy are not on this list because neither app could be installed from the Shopify App Store when we checked on 30 October 2026. The Rebuy Personalization Engine listing and the Selleasy listing both read: “This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store.”
For Selleasy, iTnews reported that on 13 October 2026 an unauthorised party accessed an internal Selleasy tool and injected a script into several stores that redirected shoppers to lookalike checkout pages, and that Shopify confirmed the code was removed the same day (iTnews, 16 October 2026).
We found no public explanation for Rebuy’s listing status. We have implemented Rebuy on client stores before, including Shelly, but new stores can’t add it until the listing is back.
The wider lesson is that every upsell app runs code in your storefront or checkout. When we audit an app stack, we check who maintains each app, whether it uses current theme app extensions, and whether the store could switch it off in minutes if needed.
Do upsell apps slow down my Shopify store?
Yes, upsell apps can slow down your Shopify store, because each app that shows on the storefront loads its own scripts, styles and API calls, and several of them on the same product page can hurt load speed and Core Web Vitals. The effect depends on how each app is built, so measure your product page speed before and after installing.
Speed problems rarely come from one upsell app. They come from overlap: a bundle app, an upsell app, a cart app and a gift app all loading on the same product page, often with two of them doing the same job.
In our view, app scripts are usually the main speed cost on a Shopify store. Before you install a seventh app, audit the six already running.
The other cost is fragility: on one store we audited, an upsell app had already broken once because of a conflict with another installed app.
From the craftberry Shopify engineers: app blocks built on theme app extensions load only where they are placed. You can also switch them off in the theme editor without leaving code behind, so we prefer them over apps that inject scripts across the whole site. If a store pays a large monthly fee for upsell logic that rarely changes, a custom app or a native theme block is often cheaper and faster. One of the winning product-page upsell tests in our 2026 log, on a professional haircare store, used no upsell app at all: the offer was built into the theme.
How do you know if a Shopify upsell app is working?
You know a Shopify upsell app is working when revenue per visitor rises in a controlled A/B test against the same store without the offer. Most app dashboards lead with take rate, the share of shoppers who accept an offer, but take rate ignores the shoppers who saw the offer and left without buying anything.
That is why we judge every upsell on revenue per visitor (RPV), which combines conversion rate and average order value. We run these tests with Intelligems on the stores we manage.
A typical upsell test in our process:
- Start from the store’s data: which products are bought together, how order values are spread, and which payment methods shoppers use.
- Write one hypothesis per placement, for example “a buy-more-save-more ladder on the product page raises RPV”.
- Split traffic between control and variant, and run the test for at least two full weeks so both weekday and weekend shoppers are included.
- Decide on RPV first, then look at conversion rate and AOV to understand why it moved.
- Ship the winner, then test the next version of the same placement.
Below roughly 1,000 orders a month, a test may take too long to reach significance.
In that case we implement the highest-confidence changes directly. Our full method is in our guide on how to increase average order value on Shopify.
What results do Shopify upsells get in real A/B tests?
In real A/B tests, winning Shopify upsells on the product page lifted revenue per visitor by 9.7% to 14.7% across our 2026 client tests, mostly by raising conversion rate rather than basket size.
The tests below are winners from client stores, most of them anonymised; the two marked as published have full write-ups in our A/B test library.
Three patterns stand out:
- Most of our 2026 upsell winners sit on the product page, where the offer becomes part of the first decision.
- A good upsell often lifts conversion rate more than order value. A clear quantity ladder or a well-labelled bundle helps shoppers decide faster, so more of them buy.
- Framing does a lot of the work. On Shelly, the bundle tiers didn’t change price at all. On the car diagnostics store, rewording one button lifted RPV 31.2%.
From the craftberry CRO team: “Real CRO isn’t a list of best practices, it’s a graveyard of killed tests and a few winners you scale. Not every test wins, so the discipline is stopping the losers fast.” Upsell tests are no exception. That is why, after a win, we keep improving the same placement instead of jumping to a new app.
Upsells are one lever among several. On redesigns where we rebuilt product browsing and the product page, average order value rose 8% for Najaf Rugs and 4% for the Australian activewear brand SWT Active.
Is there a free upsell app for Shopify?
Yes, Shopify Search & Discovery is a completely free upsell app for Shopify, and it handles complementary products on the product page. Frequently Bought Together (3 manual bundles), ReConvert (up to 50 orders or $50 in upsell revenue) and Essential Upsell & Cross Sell (up to $100 in added revenue) all have free plans for live stores.
- Frequently Bought Together: up to 3 manual bundles.
- ReConvert: up to 50 orders or $50 in upsell revenue.
- Essential Upsell & Cross Sell: up to $100 in added revenue.
Many “free” labels on the App Store only apply to development or partner stores, including those of Kaching, UpCart, Candy Rack, AfterSell and Zipify OCU. On a live store, use a free plan to prove the placement works. Once an upsell brings in real revenue, the paid tier is usually small next to it.
Should you use an app or build a custom upsell?
Most stores should start with an upsell app and build a custom upsell only once the winning offer is stable and the app’s fees grow with revenue. An app lets you find which placement and offer work quickly; a custom upsell, built as a theme block or a private app, then removes the monthly fee and the extra script.
The trade-off is cost against flexibility. Plans priced on orders or on a percentage of revenue get more expensive as a store grows.
Every app is also one more script and one more thing that can conflict. A custom build costs more up front, but it has no monthly fee and loads only what the store needs.
We usually recommend testing with an app first, then rebuilding the winning offer natively once the numbers justify it.
When is craftberry not the right fit?
craftberry is not the right fit if your store has fewer than roughly 1,000 orders a month, if your budget for CRO is below $3,500 a month, or if you only need one app installed and configured.
Most apps above have setup help, and many install in an afternoon. We are a better fit for mid-sized and large brands that want upsells tested and built as part of a wider conversion programme.
Want your upsells tested, not guessed?
As part of our Shopify CRO service, our in-house team designs, builds and tests upsell offers on the product page, cart and checkout, measured on revenue per visitor.
We work with mid-sized and large brands, and our CRO retainers come with a revenue guarantee.
