Carista is a global automotive tech company offering diagnostic and customisation tools for everyday drivers. Established in 2013, the company offers dealer-grade access for major automotive brands such as VW Group, BMW, Toyota, and Nissan.



Two web properties. One problem

Carista had two separate digital presences that didn't talk to each other.

One was a home, where drivers checked which cars were supported, read the blog, and understood the product.

On the other side, they had a Shopify store where shoppers could buy their products.

Two different experiences, two different URLs, a gap in between.

The shoppers were checking compatibility on one site and converting on another. That's friction at the exact moment it costs the most.

On top of that, too much revenue ran through Amazon and third-party channels that Carista didn't own or control.

As a Shopify agency for tech brands, craftberry built exactly that - a single destination that handles brand, education, compatibility, and purchase.

Built for a premium automotive brand

To create a store that felt both distinctive and highly intuitive, our team knew the process had to begin with deep research.

We combined data analytics, heatmaps, and competitive analysis to shape a visual direction grounded in real customer behaviour and the way Carista’s audience interacts with the brand online.

Carista's audience doesn't think of themselves as tech buyers.

They're car owners who want to feel capable, not intimidated. The design had to carry real technical depth, clear enough to make a first-time buyer feel like they're in the right place.

Clean layouts, strong visual hierarchy, benefit-first messaging. The product earns the sale, the store doesn't get in the way.

The Supported Cars Quiz - solving the real purchase blocker

The biggest barrier to purchase was uncertainty.

Drivers needed to know: Does Carista work with my car?

Until they had that answer, nothing else mattered.

We built a custom quiz directly into the Shopify storefront.

Shoppers can now enter their car's brand, model, and year.

The quiz returns what Carista supports for their specific vehicle - features, functions, and compatibility level.

The check that used to pull users off the store now lives inside it.

Subscriptions and multi-channel fulfilment

Carista’s offering combines two essential products - a hardware adapter and a software subscription.

Their users need both to unlock the full experience.

We designed a clear and intuitive subscription flow to help customers understand exactly what’s included before checkout.

On the fulfilment side, we integrated the store with Carista’s existing Amazon warehouse network across the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

This allowed Carista’s customers to benefit from fast, reliable delivery without the need for a new logistics infrastructure from the ground up.


Going global

Carista sells worldwide. We built the store to match - seven languages, three currencies, and market-specific content that targets by geography so the right message reaches the right audience.

Appstle

Appstle powers Carista's Pro subscription management directly in the storefront. It handles billing, renewals, and plan logic.

Klaviyo

Klaviyo drives Carista's email marketing and customer retention. It gives the team the ability to build automated flows, segment audiences by behaviour, and reach customers with the right message at the right moment.

Avalara

Avalara handles tax compliance automatically across every market Carista sells in - no manual overhead of managing tax rules across multiple countries and currencies.

GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta

The full tracking across every channel gives Carista's team a clear view of where customers come from and how they behave in the store.
