The best ecommerce email marketing agencies for Shopify brands in 2027 are Flowium, One 10 Media, InboxArmy, The Email Marketers, Hustler Marketing, Sticky Digital, Sweat Pants Agency, CodeCrew, Chronos Agency and Threadpoint.

We compared all 10 for US Shopify brands with $2M+ in annual revenue on Klaviyo partner tier, published results, Clutch reviews, pricing transparency and how much each one works on the Shopify store itself, using each agency's own website, Klaviyo's partner directory and Clutch, checked on November 2, 2026.

Quick picks: Flowium for a Klaviyo-first email and SMS program, One 10 Media for email and paid ads from one team, InboxArmy for a published price (from $1,500 per month), and The Email Marketers for 8-figure DTC brands.

About this list: craftberry, a Shopify Premier Partner, publishes this list and is not ranked on it. We build and migrate the Shopify stores that email programs run on, so we also noted which parts of the store each agency leaves to a Shopify partner. No agency paid to appear.

What is a good ecommerce email marketing agency?

A good ecommerce email marketing agency holds a high Klaviyo partner tier, publishes named results with numbers, is open about how it charges and understands the Shopify store data its flows depend on.

Here is how those qualities showed up when we compared the 10 agencies on this list and audited Shopify stores in 2026:

  • Klaviyo depth is the first filter. Nine of the 10 agencies here hold a tier in Klaviyo's partner directory, from Silver to Elite, and Klaviyo is the default email platform on the Shopify stores we build.
  • Published results beat logo walls. Named clients with numbers on the agency's own site say more than a list of brands.
  • Few agencies publish prices. Of the 10 agencies here, only InboxArmy shows a fee on its own site, so compare scope, team seniority and contract terms before price.
  • Many email problems start in the store. In 7 CRO and checkout audits we ran in 2026, the email failures we found most often were store problems: newsletter codes rejected at checkout and email traffic converting well but barely captured.
  • Clutch reviews separate the field. InboxArmy (72 reviews), Chronos Agency (59) and One 10 Media (31) have the deepest review records, while Sticky Digital has none yet and Threadpoint has one.

What do email marketing agencies handle?

Email marketing agencies handle an ecommerce brand's automated flows, campaigns, segmentation, deliverability, SMS and revenue reporting, usually inside Klaviyo. A good one is measured on revenue per recipient and on email's share of store revenue, not on open rates.

Here is what each of those areas covers day to day:

  • Flows: welcome, browse abandonment, abandoned cart and checkout, post-purchase, replenishment, win-back and sunset. These run every day without anyone pressing send.
  • Campaigns: the calendar of launches, promotions and content sends, including peak periods such as Black Friday.
  • Segmentation: groups built from purchase history, browsing and engagement, so that a first-time buyer and a fifth-time buyer do not get the same email.
  • Deliverability: domain authentication, list hygiene and sending reputation, so that email lands in the inbox at all.
  • SMS and other channels: text messages, push and sometimes WhatsApp or direct mail, coordinated with email.
  • Reporting: flow and campaign revenue, revenue per recipient and email's share of total store revenue.

What most agencies do not touch is the store itself: the signup forms, the tracking that feeds Klaviyo, the checkout where a newsletter code is redeemed, and the customer data that has to survive a replatform. That split matters, and we come back to it in the section on why Klaviyo flows underperform.

How do you evaluate an email marketing agency?

Evaluate an email marketing agency on how deep its Klaviyo partnership goes, whether it names clients and numbers, what independent reviewers say, whether it shows a price and how much of the Shopify store it can work on. Where an agency reports its own results, we label them as agency-reported, and we re-check every fact on this list each quarter.

Here is what each of the five criteria checks:

  • Klaviyo depth: the partner tier Klaviyo lists in its partner directory. Where the agency's site and the directory disagree, we use the directory's wording.
  • Published results: named clients with revenue or growth figures on the agency's own site.
  • Independent reviews: Clutch rating and review count.
  • Pricing transparency: whether a fee is shown on the agency's own site before the first call.
  • Shopify depth: whether the agency can work on the store itself, including tracking, signup capture, checkout and migrations.

Order reflects how well each agency answers those questions for a US Shopify brand with $2M+ in annual revenue. Klaviyo depth and published results carry the most weight. None of the 10 works on the store itself, so store-side fixes need a Shopify partner alongside whichever agency you pick. A lower position does not mean a weak agency: several of them are the better choice for a particular category, stage or budget.

What are the best email marketing agency options?

The best email marketing agency options for Shopify brands are the 10 agencies profiled below, and they differ most on Klaviyo tier, how much of the Shopify store they work on, whether they publish results with numbers and whether they show a fee. Each profile below covers the same points: best fit, scope, credentials, results, fees, what to check and website.

1. Flowium: best for brands that want a Klaviyo-first email and SMS program

Fees and terms: not published. Flowium advertises a two-year price lock and no long-term contracts.

What is the best email marketing agency for ecommerce?

The best email marketing agency for ecommerce depends on your revenue and platform: Flowium, One 10 Media, Hustler Marketing or Threadpoint for $2M to $10M brands on Klaviyo, The Email Marketers or Sticky Digital for $10M+ DTC brands, and InboxArmy or CodeCrew for brands on several email platforms. The table matches each situation to where the bottleneck usually sits:

If you are not on Shopify yet: fix the platform question first. An email program built on a store that is about to be replaced will need rebuilding after the Shopify migration.

Why aren't my Klaviyo flows performing?

Klaviyo flows usually underperform because of problems in the Shopify store, not because the emails are weak: welcome codes the checkout rejects, too few subscribers entering the flows, and store events that stop firing after a theme change or migration. A good email agency will spot these. Fixing them is Shopify work.

We see these problems in every migration, build and CRO audit we run. Here are the three that hold flows back most often, each with a check you can run yourself.

1. Newsletter discount codes fail at checkout

Newsletter codes usually fail because of store rules the email never mentioned, such as product exclusions, discounts that cannot stack or codes that break once the shopper logs in.

In a 2026 audit for a health retailer, customer feedback held 278 complaints about discount codes and loyalty points that did not work. One shopper put it plainly: "I enter the discount code from the newsletter I just received by e-mail, and the system won't accept it." In a checkout audit for a sports equipment brand, 43 shoppers described a code that was accepted and then silently removed.

The email did its job. The store broke the promise, and the shopper blames the brand, not the discount logic.

How to check: sign up from a fresh address, then redeem the welcome code on mobile with a sale item in the cart and again while logged in. If a code has exclusions, state them in the email and the popup before the shopper reaches checkout.

2. Email converts well but captures too few subscribers

Email usually stays small because the store captures too few subscribers, not because the emails are weak. In two of our 2026 audits, email was among the best-converting traffic sources and among the smallest. For a fashion brand, email visits converted at 2.02% against a 1.77% site average but made up 0.3% of sessions. For an automotive tech brand, email converted at 0.79% while social traffic converted at 0.04%, yet email brought only 1,136 sessions.

When email converts like that, the constraint is usually list growth, and list growth is a storefront job: the popup, the quiz, account creation and the offer behind them.

How to check: in GA4, compare the email channel's conversion rate with the site average, then look at its share of sessions. A high rate on a tiny share points to capture, not copy.

3. How do you test Klaviyo flows?

Test Klaviyo flows by checking that every store event that triggers them still fires: viewed product, added to cart, started checkout and placed order. A theme update or replatform can break any of them, and Klaviyo shows no error, so flow revenue drifts down with no alert.

On our migrations, Klaviyo sits on the standing list of scripts to carry over, alongside GA4, Google Tag Manager and the ad pixels. We connect tracking through Shopify's Customer Events rather than pasting scripts into the theme, and we test each event end to end before launch. A pixel that loads but never fires a purchase looks fine and reports nothing.

How to check: in Klaviyo, open Analytics, then Metrics, and look at the last time each store event fired. Anything older than a day on a store with steady traffic needs a look.

An email agency can only work with the data and signups the store sends. Need a Shopify partner to fix the store side? That is where our Shopify development and Shopify CRO teams usually come in.

From craftberry's Shopify engineers: when a client's email revenue drops after a launch, we check the events before the copy. In our experience the cause is more often a missing event or a broken code than a weaker subject line.

When should you hire an email marketing specialist?

Hire an email marketing specialist when your store tracks cleanly and the problem is campaign strategy, copy or cadence; the specialists above run that work day to day. We set up Klaviyo and the core flows as part of a build, but we do not run ongoing campaign calendars.

If the problem sits in the store, or you are planning a Shopify migration, we are the team to talk to.

"They were a high-energy team driven by a focused intention to support the technology side of your business." Angel Dimitrov, CEO, NL BEAUTY (Clutch review)

How much do agencies charge for email marketing?

Agencies charge for email marketing through monthly retainers or one-off projects, and most do not publish the amounts.

Among the 10 agencies on this list, only InboxArmy publishes a fee, a $1,500 monthly minimum for managed services; the others quote after a discovery call. Your email platform's own subscription is billed separately, on top of any agency fee.

Here is how the agencies on this list charge:

AgencyHow it chargesPublished amount
InboxArmyMonthly managed serviceFrom $1,500 per month
Hustler MarketingOne-time project for flows, monthly retainer for campaignsNot shown
FlowiumCustom quote with a two-year price lock and no long-term contractNot shown
Sweat Pants AgencyMonth to month, no setup fees, scoped to email and SMS volumeNot shown

When you compare quotes, line up what each fee includes: number of campaigns per month, flow builds, design, SMS, reporting and who attends the calls. A lower fee that leaves out flow work or design often costs more once those pieces are bought separately.

If an audit points to fixes in the store itself, budget for them separately: at craftberry, store builds and migrations start from $15K and CRO retainers from $3,500 per month.

One caution on directories: the minimum figures shown on agency profiles on sites such as Clutch are usually minimum project sizes, not monthly retainers, so they are a poor guide to what an ongoing program costs.

Are email marketing agencies worth it?

Email marketing agencies are worth it once email is a meaningful revenue line and nobody in-house owns lifecycle full time. Smaller stores often get more from a strong freelancer, and larger brands with a CRM lead may only need production help. The deciding factor is who owns the strategy, not who presses send.

OptionBest forStrengthTrade-off

How do I choose an email marketing agency?

Choose by putting the same six questions to every finalist, covering team, reporting, store knowledge, results, account ownership and exit terms. Their answers separate agencies faster than a portfolio does.

  • Who works on our account each week, and how many other accounts does that person manage?
  • Which numbers lead the monthly report: revenue per recipient, flow revenue, email's share of store revenue or open rates?
  • What would you check first if abandoned checkout revenue dropped 30% overnight? An email-only answer is about copy and offers. A store-aware answer starts with whether the checkout event still fires.
  • Which named results with numbers can you show for brands of our size and category?
  • Do the Klaviyo account, templates and data stay under our ownership if we part ways?
  • How much notice ends the contract, and what happens in the first 90 days if results lag?

Red flags to avoid

The main red flags are reports built on open rates, no named account lead, campaigns planned before flows, an agency-owned Klaviyo account and long lock-ins.

  • Reports built on open rates. Apple Mail Privacy Protection inflates opens for every sender, so opens say little about revenue.
  • No named person on the account. A shared inbox and a rotating team usually mean junior staff.
  • Campaigns before flows. A plan that starts with a send calendar and skips a flow audit leaves the always-on revenue untouched.
  • The agency owns the account. Your Klaviyo account, lists and templates should always sit under your own login.
  • Long lock-ins before any results. Twelve-month terms with no exit clause put all the risk on the brand.

What is the best email marketing agency?

The best email marketing agency for most ecommerce brands is Flowium for a Klaviyo-led email and SMS program, One 10 Media for email and paid ads together, and InboxArmy for a published price. If the store side holds email back, start with a Shopify partner.

The best Klaviyo agency for ecommerce is Flowium for most brands, with Klaviyo Master Elite status, named results and a 4.9 Clutch rating. One 10 Media and The Email Marketers suit larger, multi-channel programs. If tracking, signup capture or a migration is the problem, you need a Shopify partner alongside the Klaviyo agency.
An email marketing agency is a team that plans, builds and runs a brand's email and SMS program. For ecommerce brands that usually means Klaviyo, and most such agencies are listed in Klaviyo's partner directory with a tier from Silver to Elite. Nine of the 10 agencies on this list hold a tier in that directory.
A credible case study shows ROI as a named client, a revenue figure and a time frame, such as InboxArmy's Maven Lane result of $700K+ in six months, $641,826 of it from automations. Treat percentages with no baseline or period as marketing, and ask for revenue per recipient and email's share of store revenue.
Check its tier in Klaviyo's partner directory, ask for named results with numbers for brands of your size, and find out who works on your account each week. Then ask what they would check first if abandoned checkout revenue dropped overnight: a strong answer starts with the store events, not the copy.
A Shopify migration agency that works from a direct database export and reconciles the data before launch can move your store without losing customer data and order history; an email agency usually cannot do this on its own, because subscriber records, consent and tracking move with the store. The migration team has to carry subscribers across as customer data with their consent status, reconnect Klaviyo events and rebuild cookie consent for the new store. Before cutover, the subscribed-profile counts in the old platform, Shopify and Klaviyo should reconcile. For Shelly, we migrated 500K+ customer records from Shopware to Shopify Plus from a direct database export, against a 99%+ data-accuracy target.
Start with Klaviyo's partner directory and Clutch, shortlist three or four agencies whose published results match your size and category, then put the same questions to each. The shortlist above is a tested starting point for Shopify brands.
