About the Brand
Doctor Mi was founded by dermatologist Dr. Miriam Rehbein with the goal of combining medical skincare expertise with clear and accessible product education.
Drawing on her professional work with patients and her personal experience with acne, Dr. Rehbein created a brand that helps customers better understand their skin, the products they use and the results they can realistically expect.
This educational approach is central to the brand. Customers are not only choosing between products; they are evaluating ingredients, skin concerns, routines and expected outcomes before making a purchase.
About the project
Doctor Mi is a client of HelloVlad Design Studio, which led the creative direction for the brand’s redesign.
To turn this direction into a functional ecommerce experience, HelloVlad partnered with craftberry as its Shopify development agency.
We were responsible for the custom Shopify development and for translating the visual concept into a flexible, responsive and bilingual storefront.
Context
From our experience working with multiple brands in the beauty and skincare industry, we have noticed that one of the biggest conversion barriers is rarely a lack of product information.
The problem is that this information is often disconnected from the moment when the customer needs it.
The previous store made it harder for shoppers to understand the differences between products, explore the science behind the formulas and identify suitable options for their skin concerns.
Educational content, clinical information and subscription benefits also needed to be presented more clearly within the buying journey.
The project therefore required more than a visual redesign. It needed a custom Shopify structure that could bring education, evidence and purchase decisions together without making the experience feel overwhelming..
Development Approach
We translated HelloVlad’s creative direction into a fully custom Shopify store in German and English.
Based on our experience with beauty and skincare brands, we focused on bringing product education, clinical information and purchase options closer to the buying decision.
The result is a clearer and more flexible shopping experience that helps customers find suitable products while giving the Doctor Mi team greater control over its content.
We delivered:
- A fully custom bilingual Shopify storefront
- Interactive product galleries with clinical statistics and before-and-after content
- A skincare quiz based on skin types and concerns
- Clear one-time and subscription purchase options
- Flexible Shopify sections for future products, content and campaigns
Post-launch
The new store gives customers a clearer path from identifying a skin concern to exploring relevant products, reviewing supporting information and selecting the most suitable purchase option.
For us, the project reinforced an important principle we have seen across the beauty industry - strong branding attracts attention, but clear product education helps customers make the decision to buy.
The most effective skincare stores do not separate storytelling, clinical evidence and commerce. They bring them together within the same journey.
Results
Following the launch, Doctor Mi recorded a 14% increase in conversion rate, based on data from Shopify Analytics. Recorded over a three-month period from August 2025 to November 2025 compared with the previous three months.
